Meditation

Health & Fitness

I look forward to my daily dose of Pilates for many reasons- I love wearing my workout clothes, the darling friends I’ve made, the decor is fabulous, and the instructors bring the fun (and burn) to each class. Those are all reasons that contribute to the overall experience, but that hour of pilates allows me a chance to drown out the world and focus on bettering my mind, heart, body, and soul. I zone out and listen to the instructor guide me while I focus on improving my balance and strength- it is my meditation. Not only do I leave the studio feeling calm, I feel strong!

Meditation – A practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

Meditation doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. The product of meditation is what we’re after! Sometimes we need to consciously carve out the time to clear our minds so we can lead more full and complete lives. I know when I take the time I need for myself, my mind and body feel at peace and I’m more productive throughout the day.

How do you practice meditation, and what are the by-products you enjoy? I’d love to hear what works for you! Thank you for reading and following along, Happy Wednesday!

  1. We’ve started nightly meditations and our kids have totally chilled at bedtime. Me too. And I’ve never been a believer in yoga but it helps everything. I just google yoga on YouTube and there are so many good ones (with awesome Australian accents.)
