By sharing my favorite fashions/style, healthy recipes, workout tips, and a little bit of my personal life- I hope to inspire YOU to live your most LUXE life!

Through different times of my life- the highs and the lows, I’ve learned the importance of romanticizing this life we live – and to me, that means making everything LUXE! Let’s be LUXE together, #LuxeAsh!

I started AshleighDeane.com in 2017 as a creative outlet where I can share a few of my favorite and most important things.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, and attended college 4 hours away in Los Angeles, CA at the University of Southern California. On the weekends (when I wasn’t studying like crazy) I would day trip to Newport Beach, Malibu, Beverly Hills, and the iconic Rodeo Drive. This is where I first observed the unique combination of laid back and ultra luxe fashion. Since my college days, I’ve challenged myself to blend that CA vibe with my own personal style.

Fashion, styling, fitness, food & travel have always been a constant in my life. I love tailoring daily outfits, shopping to build a well-rounded wardrobe, working out daily, and finding fun new ways to move my body. I am extremely humbled to share my individual style and story with you.

Thank you for following along, I hope you’ll stay a while!

xo, Ash

FAQ

Where does the 'Deane' of Ashleigh Deane come from?

Deane is my middle name. I was named after my maternal great grandmother, Dora Deane.

How did you originally hurt your back?

I, or my doctors, can’t pinpoint the original injury. However, from a young age, I’ve led an active lifestyle. I was a competitive gymnast for many years, played tennis in high school, and love that CrossFit and runner’s high.

How many surgeries have you had on your back?

2 surgeries on my back in the same area.

In November 2014, I had a Microdiscectomy  and Laminectomy at the L5/S1 level due to spinal stenosis. The surgery removed a large portion of my disc that was resting on my SI nerve causing severe nerve pain and damage. I was unable to walk, sit, or stand for nearly 3 months prior to surgery.

I lived with chronic pain for nearly five years between surgeries.

In July 2019, I had an Artificial Disc Replacement at the same level (L5/S1).

What is an Artificial Disc Replacement Surgery?

This YouTube video explains an artificial disc replacement surgery. (second surgery in July 2019)

An ActivL artificial disc was inserted between my two vertebra where the original disc was removed 5 years prior.

My surgery was performed by Dr. Scott Blumenthal of the Texas Back Institute Center for Disc Replacement in Plano, TX.

How long was your recovery?

After my first back surgery, I never felt completely pain free, but I went back to work 2 months after surgery.

After my second back surgery, I went back to work 6 weeks after surgery. I went to physical therapy 2 weeks post surgery and continued going for 10 weeks. I was released to full activity 3 months post surgery.

What do you eat in a day?

I feel terrible answering this question because I am in no way a ‘model eater.’ Especially since I’ve had to struggle with not working out as often as usual due to my surgeries.

I eat in moderation, meaning I enjoy indulging once in awhile but I am also very intentional about what I eat at every meal. I often track in my mind what I’ve eaten throughout the day and that dictates what I will eat for the remainder of the day. If I listen to my body, I know what kinds of food it needs. Sometimes thats just water and some veggies, or other times its dark chocolate and diet coke! Gotta have that balance!

I guess you could call it a mix of intermittent fasting, intuitive eating, and macros.

What is your fitness routine?

I will typically workout 5-6 times per week. I do 20-30 minutes of cardio daily, rotating between running and my Peloton stationary bike. I also do some kind of strength training session 2-3 times per week. Depending on how I am feeling, I will either do Pilates or some kind of circuit/CrossFit workout that I come up with on my own. I am very conservative with my strength training due to the tender and fragile nature of my back/spine. I tend to opt for low impact strength training by using my own bodyweight over barbells or heavy weights.

Where did you attend college? What did you study?

I attended the University of Southern California where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business.  Fight On!

I also worked in the football office of the athletic department while I was a student and interned at ABC studios in the Public Relations department.
