DIY Fitted Dress | Style Tip

Style

Today I’m revisiting a style tip I shared on my Instagram a few weeks ago. This simple tip requires a single rubber band and a little adjusting. The dress I’m wearing is normally flowy and loose, which is beautiful.. but I wanted to give it a more tailored and flattering feel. Since there are already tiers on the dress, I thought creating a gather with a rubber band would look similar to one of the tiers, matching the feel of the dress well.

To create the gather: grab a bunch from underneath, tie it up with a rubber band, hide it, and ‘voila,’ you’ve got a fitted and tailored situation!

I’ve also used this tip on sweaters, t-shirts, and a few other dresses! Depending on the fit and style of the item, you could place the gather in the back, or more centered in the front. I like to play around with it a little until it’s just right! Enjoy!

The other day, I wore a dress as a shirt and it was one of my favorite outfits! What kinds of style adjustments do you make to your outfits? I’d love to hear! Thank you for reading!
