We just experienced a sports equinox! All four major US professional sports leagues had a game on the same day. Yet another reason October is one of the best months of the year. Football is back, playoff baseball is happening, hockey and basketball start up again- and the weather is amazing!
I thought it would be fun to give some tips for attending a live game because in order to truly enjoy the experience, there are a few things you must have!
#1 – An outfit in the proper team colors.
#2 – Stadium approved (clear) purse/bag.
#3 – Snacks- duh!
#4 – Proper footwear.
#5 – A positive attitude!
Thankfully, a blogger friend of mine has us all covered on 2 of the 5 above. She has a beautiful website that will help you find #1- the perfect outfit in your team’s colors and she shares various styles ofย #2- stadium approved bags. If your bag isn’t clear or the proper size, you must go to bag check with a (usually long) line to check your bag. Let’s be honest, its way more fun to spend game time cheering for you team than standing in line listening to the fun.
You can find her helpful information at TheCollegiateWardrobe.com. When I’m looking for the perfect shade of navy to sport my Yankee pride, I can click on theย shop by team color tab and find tons of adorable options. From crimson, gold, burnt orange, to combo colors like purple/yellow, red/blue, & red/black she’s got ya covered!

This time last October, I knocked an item off my bucket list and went to my first SEC football game in Jacksonville, FL for the Florida-Georgia OR Georgia-Florida game – depending where your allegiance lies. It’s a huge rivalry set in a neutral location once referred to as, the world’s largest cocktail party. I loved watching the game almost as much as I loved watching that southern game day style.
What sporting events do you look forward to attending? Or would you rather watch from home? With such great camera technology, the television feed sometimes feels like you’re watching in person, right? Even if you plan to watch at home, TheCollegiateWardrobe.com still has ya covered with great tailgating ideas and essentials for the perfect game day at home. I heard this also referred to as homegating, love it!
I love this!!
